Coastal Erosion, Uninsurable Homes, Managed Retreat
Imminent in New Zealand- and the majority of people are unaware
Managed Retreat is imminent in New Zealand along the coastal towns. Warnings of coastal erosion are being slapped on houses and the owners are not even aware (in NZ it's called a Land Information Memorandum- In Australia an Information Memorandum).
This letter is from the Coastal Ratepayers United in New Zealand, who are challenging the faulty climate change modelling being relied upon to ruin the people of Kapiti.
In Australia:
This is leading to the same outcome but through different measures- unaffordable housing insurance, unable to get housing insurance, unable to sell house as it has a warning on it, managed retreat. I covered this in a previous article.
And here:
In 2022 Blackrock entered New Zealand with a $2b renewable energy partnership with the government.
The New Zealand government hired Jacobs Solutions to do a climate risk assessment on the Kapiti area. Blackrock, Vanguard have shares in Jacobs.
The Jacobs report is calling for Managed Retreat. They also state that they have not determined the accuracy of the modelling they used for their report, and they stipulate that they are not liable for the consequences of their report.
Jacobs Solutions in Australia is working on a renewable energy project in Queensland- Squadron Energy.
According to Wikipedia Jacobs Solutions takes funding from the Pentagon, and they also don’t like paying taxes.
The Expert Working group on Managed Retreat in New Zealand released a report discussing Managed Retreat. Leave it to the “Experts” to determine your fate, and not even alert you.
There is so much in these documents that New Zealand people must read, such as is if you have an investment property you will not be reimbursed, but you MAY be given some assistance with the costs of demolishing your house.
Discussed is that tax payers will need to foot the bill for managed retreat.
For those who own a rental property you may be reimbursed less then the cost of the rental home on CONDITION that you use the funds to establish long-term rental facilities in the new location, or by investing in an approved investment vehicle for long-term rental accommodation. It sounds like it will be dictated where you can purchase another rental property? Then they are encouraging people to invest in an investment vehicle for long term housing- would this be Blackrock? Blackstone? Or other corporate entities buying up housing stock- You Betcha!
This is happening in New Zealand as we speak, this is coming for Australia. The conflict of interest is mindblogging. It is truely how people will own nothing and be renting from massive corporate entities- under their terms and conditions.
There are two groups fighting this in New Zealand. If you're in New Zealand please get behind these groups, it doesn't matter if you live in Kapiti or not, this will be the model and it will be implemented incrementally. If you are in Australia consider supporting them as they are setting the ground work for how we must push back here.

What can we do?
Keep your eye on your local Council documents regarding Climate change
When your insurance company puts your rates up ask them why, when they say "Climate Change" ask them for their modelling.
Find out about your State government modelling for Climate Change and who they are partnering with.
Start talking to people about what’s coming.

Under LIMs the following is ridiculous:
"Any information that has been notified to the Council by any statutory organisation in terms of any other act".
That could mean anything.. You wouldn't know where the punch was coming from.
"Bizarrely, the coastal erosion note...irrespective of its location..." That's where the rat smell is coming from, eh? Now if I were intent on rolling out SMART surveillance cities, how would I get all the current landowners to vacate? Ah, of course! "managed retreat"! Doesn't have to make sense. Neither did the pandemonium policies.
